Providing Generational Wealth through Home Ownership: JTF Homebuyer Grants Program Workshops​

The Jayson Tatum Foundation (JTF), in partnership with SoFi and Beyond Housing, hosted the first official JTF Homebuyer Grants ProgramGenerational Wealth & Homeownership Workshop, attracting over 100 potential new homebuyers. The Workshop, led by executives from JTF,SoFi, and Beyond Housing, aimed to provide vital information to new homebuyers, helping them turn their homebuying dreams into reality.​

The Workshop is the first step to qualifying for The Jayson Tatum Foundation Homebuyer Grants Program, designed to support low- to -moderate-income, first-time homebuyers planning to purchase a home in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County. Participants had access tofree workshops focused on financial literacy, budgeting, and homeownership planning. Additionally, homebuyer education and financialcounseling with housing experts will help guide families through the homebuying process.​

The $2 million initiative, funded by Jayson Tatum and SoFi’s Generational Wealth Fund, collaborates with Beyond Housing St Louis to make homeownership more attainable by offering comprehensive resources designed to empower families with the knowledge and skills needed to navigatethe homebuying process and manage their financial futures effectively.​

Successful completion of the Workshop is the first step of the process for participants to apply for grants to assist with down payment costs andclosing costs, easing the financial burden on families. The event was a significant step towards fostering generational wealth throughhomeownership to build stronger communities.​
