Fostering Hope through Home Ownership: 2nd JTF Homebuyers Grants Program Workshop

The Jayson Tatum Foundation (JTF), in partnership with SoFi and Beyond Housing, hosted the first official JTF Homebuyers Grants Program Financial Literacy & Homeownership Workshop, attracting/qualifying over 100 potential new home buyers. The event, led by executives from JTF, SoFi, and Beyond Housing, aimed to provide vital information to new home buyers, helping them turn their home buying dreams into reality.

The workshop is the first step to qualifying for The Jayson Tatum Foundation Homebuyer Grants Program, designed to support low-and moderate-income first-time homebuyers in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County. Participants had access to free workshops focused on financial literacy, budgeting, and homeownership planning. Additionally, homebuyer education and financial counseling with housing experts will help guide families through the home buying process.

The $2 million initiative, funded by Jayson Tatum and SoFi’s Generational Wealth Fund, collaborates with Beyond Housing St Louis to make homeownership more attainable by offering comprehensive resources designed to empower families with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the home buying process and manage their financial futures effectively.

Participants qualified them to apply for grants to assist with down payment costs and closing costs, easing the financial burden on families. The event was a significant step towards fostering hope through homeownership and enabling generational wealth and stronger communities.
