Continuing our goal to help those in need in the St. Louis region during the Christmas holiday season, the Foundation held its “Third Annual Daddy & Deuce Toy + Coat Drive” in November & December 2020.
With the help of Jordan Brand, NBA 2K, Gatorade, Ruffles, New Era, Fanatics, the St. Charles Group at Morgan Stanley, the Varsity Basketball Team and staff at Chaminade College Preparatory School, and families, students and staff at Central Christian School, together with other individual donors, the Foundation was able to provide duffle bags, video games, water bottles, towels, caps, beanies, posters, personal items, snacks, coats, gloves, and a gaming station to the Residential Treatment Program clients at Every Child’s Hope (ECH) in St. Louis. Imo’s Pizza also provided a special holiday pizza party for the residents.
ECH wrote in their newsletter that “Due to Covid, we have not been able to have our usual holiday parties; so this pizza party gave a wonderful sense of normalcy for our residents during a tough year. During their pizza party, when our residents heard about Jayson Tatum & his gracious giving through his foundation; they were very grateful, so excited, and pumped to follow Jayson & the Celtics now.”
The Foundation was also able to provide beanies, coats, gloves, games, toys, and books to some of the younger children who participate in special programs at ECH.
The Foundation assisted the single mothers and children at Almost Home in St. Louis by providing new coats, gloves, scarves, robes, slippers, and hair products for the mothers, and coats, gloves, beanies, and some “wish list” items for the children.
