In June 2017, Jayson realized a lifelong dream when he was selected third overall in the NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. His impact was immediate—starting every game in his rookie season and playing a crucial role in the Celtics’ thrilling playoff run against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Beyond the game, Jayson is committed to giving back through The Jayson Tatum Foundation, which supports children, youth, and families through educational initiatives, sports programs, and support through mentorship, and community outreach. Inspired by the values instilled in him by his mother and his faith, Jayson credits his success to hard work, perseverance, and his unwavering belief in God. His favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13—“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”—serves as a guiding principle in both his career and life.
Jayson’s love for his hometown of St. Louis runs deep, shaping both his journey and his unwavering commitment to giving back. For Jayson, giving back isn’t just an obligation—it’s a lifelong mission to uplift the city that helped shape him.
